Pētījuma mērķis ir uzzināt Latvijā studējošo vietējo un ārvalstu studentu uzskatus par savstarpējām attiecībām un diskrimināciju. Aptaujā piedalījās 1130 vietējie studenti un 510 Latvijā studējošie ārvalstu studenti no septiņām augstskolām.
Pētījuma galvenie rezultāti ir sekojoši:
-Lielākā daļa (~70%) no studentiem bijuši kopumā apmierināti ar studijām Latvijā;
-Apmēram katrs ceturtais ārvalstu students—biežāk tie, kuri uzturās Latvijā ilgstoši—pieminēja sabiedrības negatīvo attieksmi un diskrimināciju kā neapmierinātības aspektu;
-Pret sevi vērstu diskriminējošu attieksmi vismaz dažas reizes izjutuši vairāk kā ceturtdaļa (27%) no vietējiem studentiem un 41% no ārvalstu studentiem ;
-Visraksturīgākais diskriminējošais attieksmes iemesls ārvalstu studentiem bija atšķirīgas tautības vai valstiskas piederības dēļ;
-Apmēram 60% no vietējiem un ārvalstu studentiem, kuri izjuta diskriminējošu attieksmi no augstskolas personāla puses saistīja to ar dzimumu;
-Tomēr, 81% no vietējiem studentiem atbildējuši kad nav problēma kontaktēties ar ārvalstu studentiem un apmēram puse no abām grupām labprāt piedalītos aktivitātes, kur kopā piedalās gan vietējie gan ārvalstu studenti.
